Ron Perry Upped at SONGS

PERRY UPPED AT SONGS: Sometimes good things even happen to Mets fans. Ron Perry has been upped to President and Head of A&R at SONGS Music Publishing, reporting to Founder/CEO Matt Pincus. Perry will continue to oversee contemporary acquisitions for the company, including all writer and artist signings and song-plugging activities, while managing its Pop, Urban, and Rock joint ventures. A partner in the pubbery, Perry has been with SONGS since its founding in 2004, with signings including Diplo, Dev, Q-Tip, Marsha Ambrosius, Bright Eyes and Sleigh Bells, with recent hits such as Dev’s “In the Dark,” Tyga’s “Rack City” and “Faded,” M83’s “Midnight City,” Usher’s “Climax” and Owl City/Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Good Time.” Said Pincus: “This enhanced role for Ron, who has built SONGS with me since I started it, underscores the strength and uniqueness of the company. It's a great day for SONGS." Said Perry: "I'm not sure that Matt and I ever imagined that SONGS would become one of the leading independent publishers in such a relatively short period of time. However, along with our partner Carianne Marshall, and the great team of young people alongside us, we have always envisioned a company that provides the highest level of creative service for all of our writers in a world where true creative publishing is increasingly a rarity.” (10/2p)
