Doug and Berry on Broadway

MORRIS’ MOTOWN ON BROADWAY: Plenty of buzzing along the Great White Way about the Motown musical in development, to premiere on Broadway next spring. The show is co-produced by Doug Morris, Berry Gordy (who wrote the book) and Kevin McCollum, with Charles Randolph Wright as director. An exclusive first look at the show for group ticket sales, an hour-long version featuring eight songs, was held before an invited audience of friends and family last week at the Nederlander Theatre, where the crowd reportedly went wild. Pundits are predicting it to be a huge box office smash. (10/10a)
