N.Y. Film Critics Weight in

OSCAR PREVIEW: The N.Y. Film Critics got the jump on award season by announcing their winners this afternoon, with Kathryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty and Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln leading the charge. The upcoming thriller about the killing of Osama Bin Laden was named Best Picture, with Bigelow nabbing Best Director and Greig Fraser Best Cinematography. Spielberg’s epic about our 16th President earned honors for Daniel Day-Lewis as Best Actor, Sally Field for Best Supporting Actress and Tony Kushner Best Screenplay. Other winners included Best Actress Rachel Weisz for The Deep Blue Sea, Best Supporting Actor Matthew McConaughey for Magic Mike and Bernie, Michael Haneke’s Amour for Best Foreign Film, Ken BurnsCentral Park Five Best Non-Fiction Film and Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie Best Animated Feature.
