Alicia Keys Global Creative Director for BlackBerry

SINGING AND PINGING: Alicia Keys was named Global Creative Director for BlackBerry at an event this morning in New York. Two new models of the struggling smartphone, the Q10 and the touch-based Z10, were unveiled at the confab; Keys announced the brand's "Keep Moving Project," which will develop TBA "amazing" content for BlackBerry's customers. Filmmaker Robert Rodriguez and author Neil Gaiman are also participating in the venture. Can these talented creators help BlackBerry parent Research in Motion capture a bigger share of the smartphone market, after the trouncing it took in 2012? We're probably the wrong people to ask, since our phones are as dumb as we are. (1/30p)
