APCH 1: Stars & Strikes

A PLACE CALLED HOME, PART 1: A throng of major music acts and other celebrities are expected to put their chips on the table—and their balls in the alley--for Stars & Strikes, the annual bowling and poker tournament benefiting L.A.'s A Place Called Home (APCH), on Wed., 3/6 from 7-11 p.m. at PINZ in Studio City. Among the expected luminaries are The Wanted, Fall Out Boy, Akon, Ozomatli, Dr. Luke, RedOne, Ariana Grande and Young Blood Hawke, as well as a bevy of actors, broadcast personalities and execs. APCH describes itself as "a safe haven in South Central Los Angeles where underserved youth are empowered to take ownership of the quality and direction of their lives through programs in education, arts and well-being," providing mentoring programs and opportunities for community service and involvement to members ages 8-21. The event is Executive Produced by Christine Hansen and Thirty-Three Productions; go here for ticket and sponsorship info. (2/28a)
