WEAKEND BOX OFFICE: The Oscar spike wasn’t especially dramatic, with Silver Linings Playbook the only Best Picture nominee to make the Top 10. The Weinstein release earned $5.9m to finish #8, averaging a decent $3236 in 1836 theaters. Finishing in the Top 20 were Life of Pi (#12, $2.3m), Argo (#13, $2.2m), Zero Dark Thirty #16, $1.3m), Django Unchained (#17, $1.02m) and Lincoln (#18, $1m). Of the Oscar films, only Life of Pi averaged more than $3k, and Argo was the only one in close to 1000 theaters, with 985. Otherwise, it was a ho-hum weekend, as WB/New Line’s Jack the Giant Slayer debuted #1 with $28m, while Universal’s Identity Thief was a distant second with $9.7m in its fourth week. (3/4a)
