Jakary upped at UMGD

MIKE LIKES CANDY & VICE VERSA: UMGD has upped Michael Jakary to SVP of Label and Field Marketing, EVP/GM Candace Berry announced this morning. In this expanded role, Jakary will continue to lead the marketing efforts for UMGD’s owned and associated labels, while also managing label relations, overseeing field and college marketing staff and all of UMGD’s label marketing directors. directing the company’s marketing initiatives and refilling the photocopiers with high-quality paper. “Mike is an integral member of UMGD’s team with a passion for music and knowledge that brings invaluable insight and support to the marketing needs of our label groups,” said Berry. “His understanding of the business and his innovative approach will continue to benefit our labels and their roster of artists.” Added Jakary, “What she said.” Jakary started at UMGD as a field marketing rep, eventually ascending to VP before the latest promotion.
