Motown: The Musical Scores Platinum Sales

DANCING AT THE BOX OFFICE: Motown: The Musical has sold more than $1 million worth of tickets in its first week of previews at Broadway's Lunt Fontanne Theatre, with capacity audiences at every showing. Performances are sold out through October of the show, whose book is by label founder Berry Gordy, with Sony Music’s Doug Morris as lead producer. The production, which opens officially April 14, stars Tony nominee Brandon Victor Dixon (The Color Purple) and Valisia Lekae (The Book of Mormon) as Gordy and Diana Ross. (3/19p)
