BIG DEAL ON BMG STREET: Kenny Mac is back in the BMG fold. Veteran music publisher Kenny MacPherson, along with former Chrysalis Music colleagues Dave Ayers and Jamie Cerreta as well as Michael McDonald and Pete Robinson, have taken their new pubbery Big Deal to BMG, inking an "expansive" administration agreement for North America, Germany, UK, Scandinavia, France, Benelux, Spain and Italy. The deal also provides a framework for the two companies to sign talent jointly. The Big Deal roster includes My Morning Jacket, Jim James, The Black Angels, Ethan Johns, Missy Higgins, FIDLAR, The Walkmen, Korey Dane and songwriters Brad Tursi and Lee Anna McCollum. BMG previously acquired Chrysalis Music. Said MacPherson: “There’s a comfort level knowing we’ll be working alongside so many of our friends, especially those that still owe us money.” Added BMG CEO Hartwig Masuch: “I am absolutely excited to be working closely with Kenny again. I’ve known him since our days at Warner Chappell in the late ‘80s and I still can’t understand a word he’s saying.” Added BMG Chrysalis’ Laurent Hubert: “Where have I heard those names before?” (3/22p)
