BIBLE GROUP: You may have noted a couple of items in this very space about industry bible Billboard being in play. Today it was announced that owner Guggenheim Digital Media is acquiring the stake it doesn't currently own in Backstage and Sonic Bids and folding them into the newly coined Billboard Group. Backstage, LLC Chairman/CEO John Amato, who's run Backstage since it was spun off in 2011, has been tapped as prexy of the group. Will he be able to stanch the flow of red ink? Will the merged entity be as exciting as it ... sorry, we nodded off for a second and had a dream about MySpace merging with CompuServe and Liquid Audio.
