BMG ups Flores

FLORES, NOT FLORENCE, NOT FLO RIDA: BMG Chrysalis SVP Marketing Wendy Griffiths continues her internally popular “Promotion of the Day” initiative (see 4/24 item) by naming Alex Flores VP, Film & TV Marketing. In her expanded role, Alex will continue to place catalog songs and masters of all genres in upcoming movie and TV projects, “helping our legacy catalogs stay on the radars of high-profile directors and major studios, and positioning releases from our new and emerging recording artists and writers through strategic film and TV placement opportunities,” according to her boss. She’ll also liaise (love that word) with the A&R team in discovering and signing new talent, with an emphasis on synch licensing. She’ll continue to report to Griffiths. Before joining BMG in March 2012, she spent several years on the Disney lot in beautiful downtown Burbank, working as an in-house music supe with film music topper Mitchell Leib, after honing her skills under Kathy Nelson at Universal Pictures. In learning of her promotion, Alex asked, “Do bucks come with these stripes?” (4/25a)
