Quincy Jones Stays Active

A "Q" UPDATE: QuincyJones may have turned 80 in March, but that hasn’t slowed the legendary music man down. Fresh off his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction and Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award from the Producer and Engineers’ wing, Jones remains active as ever. He recently hosted an event to introduce his involvement with Playground Sessions, a computer program that teaches youngsters to play piano and now the N.Y. Times reports he’s managing a stable of youthful talent, including Asian K-Pop girl group Blush, 11-year-old piano prodigy Emily Bear, avant-garde Cuban jazz pianist Alfredo Rodriguez, 19-year-old Canadian jazz-pop vocalist Nikki Yanofsky, 15-year-old Slovenian jazz guitarist Andreas Varady, 27-year-old blind jazz pianist Justin Kauflin and 23-year-old British producer/songwriter Parker Ighile.
