MJ trial update/preview

MJ TRIAL UPDATE/PREVIEW: Last week during the wrongful-death trial pitting the Jackson family against AEG Live, 16-year-old Prince Jackson described what he saw on the day his father died—which happened, eerily, on the fourth anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death. He recounted seeing his father hanging halfway off his bed, eyes rolled up in the back of his head while Dr. Conrad Murray attempted CPR. Prince said he tearfully tried to comfort his siblings on the car ride to the hospital. Returning to the stand, Jackson’s longtime makeup artist Karen Faye showed jurors emails she sent to Jackson’s manager Frank Dileo warning him of MJ’s condition and stating that she didn’t want him or AEG Live boss Randy Phillips to be branded as “villains” or “financial victims” if tragedy struck. Jackson’s nephews TJ and Taj Jackson broke down on the stand as they described the loss of their uncle and its impact on their cousins. This week, which will be cut short by Thursday’s holiday, Taj is expected to resume testifying, while additional experts will be called to the witness stand. The prosecution will complete calling witnesses in around two weeks, after which the defense team will begin its arguments on behalf of AEG. (7/1a)
