LAW & ORDER SVU: The prosecution broke out another email from Randy Phillips to further its case that the AEG Live boss and his associates are culpable in the Jackson family’s wrongful-death suit. HR expert Jean Seawright testified that she believes AEG could have saved Michael Jackson’s life with a $10 background check on Conrad Murray. It would have turned up several red flags, including a default on his home loan, delinquent accounts referred to collection agencies and multiple Social Security numbers, the Michael Jackson World Network dutifully reported. The plaintiffs assert that Phillips understood the need for Jackson to have a qualified physician as questions arose about Jackson’s health. Seawright testified it was evident in the email from Phillips, which said, “This doctor is extremely successful (we check everyone out) and does not need this gig so he totally unbiased and ethical.” The defense countered that when Murray agreed to join the tour, he had practices in four states and no malpractice suits and that the decision to hire Murray was all Jackson’s.
