ONE TO WATCH: Our man in Vegas (he’s there working with the NBA Summer League) attended a performance of the Michael Jackson/Cirque de Soleil ONE extravaganza at Mandalay Bay over the weekend and recommends it highly, describing it as an amazing combination of music and image—the real Showtime in Vegas (see a longer description of the production here). ONE has been selling out consistently and garnering rave reviews. Much praise is due to estate co-executor and mega-attorney John Branca, whose oversight of the Jackson entertainment brand has been masterful. Of course, in addition to earning well over $500 million on Jackson properties since the star's death (that's after wiping out the half-billion in debt he left behind), the estate owns half of Sony/ATV Music Publishing.
