iTUNES CHARTS: On this, the last Friday of July, smack-dab in the middle of summer, things tend to slow to a crawl, and so it is with the Top 10s, which have remained all but static since Tuesday morning—with a trio of noteworthy exceptions. The liveliest occupant on the album chart is a pre-order for what looks to be the next big summer record, Luke Bryan’s Crash My Party, hitting Aug. 13 on Capitol Nashville. Is a 350k bow within reach of this hatless, handsome country star? Singles-wise, a Brit couple is tearing it up, as Labrinth and Emeli Sandé team up for the RCA’s newcomer’s “Beneath Your Beautiful,” which is in the fast lane following their striking performance of the sultry ballad on America's Got Talent Wednesday night (embedded yesterday; watch it below). Then, of course, there’s the suddenly ubiquitous “Best Song Ever” from those loveable moptops…oops—wrong century. Better get used to 1D and their latest smash, kiddies, ’cause they ain’t goin’ away anytime soon. (7/26a)
