Dan Beck MPTF Trustee
MELLOW GOLD: The RIAA has tapped industry veteran Dan Beck as Trustee of the Music Performance Trust Fund. (Not A Trustee, THE Trustee…and no, he’s not related to THAT Beck.) The MPTF, a nonprofit initiative of the labels and the American Federation of Musicians, provides grants for free live music events at schools, hospitals, community and civic events throughout the U.S. and Canada. It’s funded via a royalty stream from the Big Three. (8/1a)
