Katy Rate the Music

ROAR” REVERBERATES: We’ve been telling you for some time that Katy Perry’s single “Roar” is blowing out and setting sales records (its 557k bow made it the first-week record-holder for 2013, and it sits at #1 on the iTunes singles chart; see more about that here). Well, the song debuts this week on the National Rate the Music Top 40 chart at #1. It’s extremely rare for a song to be both that familiar and that powerful after a mere two weeks in the marketplace. Kudos to Greg Thompson, Dennis Reese and the entire Capitol marketing and promotion team as they continue to lay the groundwork for Perry’s 10/22 album, Prism. (8/29p)
