Sept. workout tracks

TOP 10 WORKOUT TRACKS FOR SEPTEMBER: You’ll find some familiar song titles and artist names on the latest list, compiled from votes placed at RunHundred.com. To wit, longstanding hits from M83 and Imagine Dragons are belatedly now getting love from gym rats. Likewise, previous Top 10 entries from Capital Cities and Bruno Mars are back in remixed form, while the pumping remix by Cedric Gervais (no relation to Ricky) that powered Lana Del Rey’s “Summertime Sadness” into the Pop sales chart has also made it a fitness-club staple. Rihanna has a lock on this action, no matter who she’s paired with, while Krewella has paired with some other EDM dude whose name doesn’t immediately come to mind.  Pop divas take up the rest of the available real estate, topped by Gaga, whose beats per minute stomp all over those of Katy and P!nk

Lady Gaga, “Applause” – 140 BPM
Bruno Mars, “Locked Out of Heaven” (The M Machine Remix) – 85 BPM
Lana Del Rey, “Summertime Sadness” (Cedric Gervais Remix) – 125 BPM
Rihanna f/David Guetta, “Right Now” – 130 BPM
Imagine Dragons, “Radioactive” – 137 BPM
Krewella, “Live for the Night” – 127 BPM
M83, “Midnight City” – 105 BPM
Capital Cities, “Safe and Sound” (RAC Mix) – 118 BPM
Katy Perry, “Roar” – 90 BPM
P!nk f/Lily Allen, “True Love” – 95 BPM

Interestingly, there’s nary a whiff of hip-hop this month. Wonder whether Eminem’s “Berzerk” will show up on the October Top 10. Hard to say, but we’d bet our best Under Armour Tech Tee that Miley Cyrus will be amply represented when all the votes are counted. (9/13a)
