IGA, OCTONE END JV: A&M Octone and Interscope Geffen A&M have announced the conclusion of their joint venture, with the former to be 100% acquired by IGA. Jimmy Iovine and John Janick's label group had held 50% of the JV, which was begun in 2007 and slated to end in 2014. A&M Octone, headed by CEO/Prexy James Diener, COO David Boxenbaum and EVP Ben Berkman was best known for having signed Maroon 5; other acts on the label included Hollywood Undead, Flyleaf and K'naan. "James and everyone at A&M Octone created a fantastic home for their artists, and their commitment to that roster has been unparalleled," goes a quote issued by Janick. "We wish James nothing but the best as he embarks on his next venture." Diener thanks Iovine, Janick and IGA "for an incredible partnership over the past six years. We are also indebted to Lucian Grainge and the worldwide Universal Music family, who took exceptional care of our artists and projects throughout the relationship." (10/7p)
