YouTube Music Awards

GRUMPY CAT SNUBBED AGAIN: Avicii, M.I.A., Tyler the Creator, Earl Sweartshirt and Walk off the Earth have joined the list of performers for the YouTube Music Awards show, to be webcast live from NYC's Pier 36 on 11/3 at 6pm EST. Eminem and Lady Gaga had already been announced for the show, the culmination of an international series of performance events. Jason Schwartzman will host, with help from comedian Reggie Watts; the awards' creative director is Spike Jonze. Eminem, Katy Perry, Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, One Direction, Rihanna, Demi Lovato, PSY, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Macklemore and Passenger are among the nominees. The global events will include musical lineups in Moscow, Korea, Rio and London (the latter show featuring Ellie Goulding and Dizzee Rascal at Abbey Road). Fans can cast their votes in six nomination categories here up until showtime. Nominees are chosen based on the artists and videos receiving the most engagement via likes, shares, comments, subscriptions and interrupting people at work to say, "Hey, have you seen that video with the llama playing the xylophone?" (10/22a)
