LN acquires Voodoo Fest, gives Rehage a gig

VOODOO NATION: Live Nation has gone way down yonder to New Orleans to acquire a controlling stake in the 15-year-old Voodoo Music & Arts Experience from fest founder Stephen Rehage, who comes out of this deal looking like a big winner. According to the Times Picayune, Rehage will be charged with overseeing Live Nation's 17 festivals around the U.S., including Electric Daisy and Sasquatch, while continuing to be based in NOLA, operating from the offices of Rehage Entertainment. The LN hookup comes following reports that Rehage had been planning to sell a controlling stake in Voodoo to Robert Sillerman's SFX Entertainment, but that deal apparently fell through. Expressing his gratitude to be joining “the Live Nation team,” Rehage said for the record, “Our outlooks on the festival market are aligned, and we look to grow the Live Nation festival roster over the coming years.” (10/29a)
