Canada Update

YOUR CANADIAN UPDATE: What's going on in our frozen neighbor to the north, eh? Usually there's not much to say about Canada, dontcha know, but this week we've got news. It seems The MGMT Company's Marc Pollack and Jonathan Kalter (pictured at right) have been nominated for Manager of the Year at the Mohawk College Music Awards, Hamilton, Ontario. The awards show happens 11/16; should they win, their colleague David Bason will translate their remarks into Canadian. In other news from the Great White North, Toronto mayor Rob Ford admitted to reporters this week that he'd smoked crack while in a drunken stupor. Rumors that he'd procured the crack from Kalter have been roundly denied. Meanwhile, Pollack's priceless collection of vintage action figures remains, like his personality, mint in box. (11/7p)
