IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Lava/Republic’s Lorde graced the cover of our most recent print edition. The Kiwi teen has already had a multi-format #1 smash, and her debut album, Pure Heroine, just won’t stop selling. Not bad for a youngster who decided to post her homemade tracks online, only to be discovered by Lava head Jason Flom. Even so, this HITS cover appearance might make her wish for some literal lava to jump into.

The HITS Contents Dungeon Prisoner of the Week is IGA Chairman Jimmy Iovine. With Eminem dropping what will surely be Q4’s biggest bow—with first-week estimates at around 775k—and another big release from Lady Gaga, Iovine is cranking up his Beats Pill and doing the happy dance. With solid marketshare, the Cat in the Hat, aided by the superb Janick-Berman team, looks to finish strong in a year marked by colossal sales for Imagine Dragons and Robin Thicke, among others, not to mention a $1 billion-plus valuation for Beats. If only he could scope his way out of this Contents shout-out. (11/11p)
