Spotify list with AGBW and PTX

VIRAL TRANSMISSION: Spotify has released its Top 10 most viral tracks in the U.S. and U.K. from 12/2-12/8. How is “most viral” determined? Glad you asked: The streamery takes the number of users who shared a song on Facebook, Twitter and elsewhere and divides it by the number who listened to it. Got it? Us neither. But the eclectic U.S. list is topped by Rise’s metal monsters Of Mice and Men and also includes Aloe Blacc, a Mumford-powered tune from the Coen Brothers’ folk-scene saga Inside Llewyn Davis, EDM-soul hybrid Mapei, A Great Big World’s “Say Something” (still #1 at iTunes after last night’s lingerie show), indie hip-hop femmes Pretty Taking All Fades, Pop thrush Jamie Lynn Spears and a cappella fivesome Pentatonix. On the U.K. side, The Special AKA’s infectious ‘80s classic “Free Nelson Mandela” sits at #1, a high-spirited tribute to the late icon. Also, keep an eye on Irish singer-songwriter Hozier, which will hit stateside in the near future via Columbia. (12/11p)
