WADING INTO THE STREAM: With Beats Music set to launch on 1/24, the press is abuzz with stories on the streaming service. Jimmy Iovine and team have been touting their "curated" concept of streaming music for some time now, and some key details are at last being revealed. As indicated on the website of mobile partner AT&T, the $10 or so monthly fee for the service covers not only streaming but unlimited downloads (the fee will be charged to users' phone bills). Meanwhile, the Family Plan will enable five accounts across 10 devices for $14.99. The latter will enable kids to hector their parents into paying for the service—no doubt spurred on by a forthcoming ad blitz in the vein of the company’s compelling spots for headphones and speakers, reportedly starting with the Super Bowl. Those ads will certainly feature artists of the same stature as those now shilling for Beats audio products. (1/16p)
