Beyonce-Jay Z for Grammys

THA CARTERS (UPDATED): According to this morning’s missive from the Recording Academy, Gary Clarke Jr. and Hunter Hayes are the latest performers to be added to Sunday night’s Grammys telecast. What they’re not yet officially revealing is that Beyoncé has agreed to do the show, as we reported yesterday. What’s more, that “Mr. and Mrs. Carter moment” we’ve been speculating about for the last month or so—which we hear will find the pair will performing the duet "Drunk in Love"—has also been secured following the repeated entreaties of Neil Portnow, Ken Ehrlich and Jack Sussman, who’ve been working overtime behind the scenes to crank up the show’s star power, as I.B. Bad noted in his most recent column. Whether they’ve also gone after and secured the services of Madonna, as the L.A. Times reported, remains to be seen. But either way, with Lorde, Katy Perry and now Beyoncé-Jay Z in the bag, as well as such draws as Daft Punk, Taylor Swift, P!nk (with Nate Ruess), Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Sara Bareilles and Imagine Dragons, it looks like mission accomplished for the three amigos.
