Vibe debut

BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED: Bowing in the latest installment of our Vibe-Raters buzz roundup is XIX/Interscope's Aloe Blacc. The soulful Cali breakout is making a huge impact at retail and radio. His "The Man," used in a powerful sports-themed Beats headphones ad, is nearing 800k in track sales and breaking at six formats and counting—Top 40, Hot AC, Rythmic, Urban AC, Urban, and Triple A are all on board in a big way. And that's just one of several tracks currently featured in high-profile TV spots. The versatile singer, who reached mass audiences as the singer of Avicii's "Wake Me Up," will play multiple SXSW dates and hits Coachella on 4/11 and 4/18. Then come Bruno Mars dates through July. His full-length Lift Your Spirit is due to drop on 3/11. In other Vibe news, A Great Big World, Bastille and Kacey Musgraves retain the top three posts and Broken Bells move up. See the whole buzzing batch right here. (2/6p)
