RED ALERT: Richard Nash has been tapped as SVP Urban Promotion for RED Distribution and RED Associated Labels (RAL), announced prexy Bob Morelli and RAL EVP/GM Tom Carrabba. In the post, the former EMI Music exec will oversee Urban promo in North America for the Sony-servicing firm; he'll continue to be based in New York. "Richard brings a wealth of solid urban radio promotions expertise that will be a great asset to the family of RED labels," Morelli declared. "And I love it when he call me 'Hey Buddy.'" Nash was at EMI from 2008-13, working with Katy Perry, Snoop Dogg and Emeli Sande, among other high-profile artists; he started indie label/promo company PlayTyme Entertainment in 2004. Prior to that he was SVP Promo at Elektra, reporting to Sylvia Rhone. He began his career as a Cleveland local for Atlantic in 1980. (2/7p)
