Cee Lo quits The Voice

ST. ELSEWHERE: On an episode of Ellen that airs today, Cee Lo Green revealed that he’s done being a coach on The Voice. Both Cee Lo and Christina Aguilera had previously bowed out of the NBC hit show’s sixth season, which kicks off Monday (2/24), with Usher and Shakira returning as their replacements. It’s unclear what the coaches’ panel will look like for season seven this fall. Cee Lo said he has a development deal with NBC and is hoping for other talk show opportunities. "I don't want to wear out my welcome there,” he explained. “I have so many other things I want to do. I haven't released an album in four years. I'm almost done with an album." Toward the end of the segment (which is embedded above), Cee Lo added, "I didn't mean to drop the bomb today." (2/19a)
