DOING THE WAVE: Deborah Cox has inked a management pact with Larry Mestel's Primary Wave Music. The deal will find the Canadian singer and songwriter, whose 20-year career encompasses several Arista albums, multiple radio hits and Broadway stardom, co-managed by PW's Hosh Gureli, with whom she has worked on several key tracks, and her longtime business partner, Lascelles Stephens. A new album is planned for late this year or early 2015. "In these changing times, it's important for me to extend my team," Cox said in a quote, "and with Primary Wave's in-house branding, digital marketing and publishing departments, we'll have all our bases covered." For his part, Mestel declared himself "proud to have such a vocal legend" on his roster, which also includes Cee Lo Green, Melissa Etheridge and The Lumineers' Ryan Hadlock, among others. "Throughout her career, she has never been afraid of taking risks. And she's promised to teach me how to speak Canadian." (2/20p)
