New Coldplay track

’ROUND “MIDNIGHT”: Without warning, a new Coldplay track and video appear, tipped off to the fan database via Coldplay Messenger email, and presumably the first taste of the band’s upcoming studio album, expected sometime in Q2. It’s a hushed, atmospheric soundscape, complete with a subtle application of Bon Iver-style AutoTune, ramping up curiosity about what they’re going for at this transitional juncture. As far as we can tell, the cut hasn’t yet shown up in the iTunes Store, but you can look and listen above. (2/25a)
