Gatfield out

EXIT GATFIELD (UPDATE): Inside sources are confirming that Nicola Tuer will serve as acting head of day-to-day operations at Sony U.K. until a successor to departing CEO Nick Gatfield as creative head is announced. Tuer, a former head of sales, was made Gatfield's deputy in 2011. She's been in the Sony system since 1995.

Nick Gatfield has stepped down as Sony Music U.K. CEO, it's being reported by Music Week. "It was an amicable decision for Nick to leave the company at this time," reads a spokesperson's statement cited by the publication. "We wish him the best in his future endeavors." A replacement hasn't yet been officially announced. Gatfield arrived at Sony in 2011; he previously served at EMI and Universal Island. (2/26p)
