YOUR WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: 300: Rise of an Empire, the blood-spattered CGI sequel to 2007's The 300 (neither film, btw, features Lyor Cohen and/or Mosco) ruled this weekend's box office with $45 million. That's a substantial dip from the original but still outstripped its closest rival for movieplex tix, animated outing Mr. Peabody & Sherman. Meanwhile, the LEGOS have put together $225m so far, and Son of God hangs in there despite a 61% second-week drop. At #17, Wes Anderson's acclaimed The Grand Budapest Hotel earned a Yelp-worthy $800k in just four theaters. We'll let you do that math.
