PW adds Benet, Wilson

PRIMARY'S URBAN RENEWAL: Larry Mestel's Primary Wave Music has launched a new Urban AC Division, tapping artist (and PW management client) Eric Benet to lead it. Promotion vet Ken Wilson, who's served at Columbia, MCA, J and other labels, comes aboard to handle in-house Urban radio promo. Benet will drive A&R at the new division, and will oversee recordings by signed acts with his producer partner Demonte Posey. "I've been working with Eric for many years and this new appointment only formalizes the great working relationship that we've already had in place," Mestel says. "Plus, by adding the radio expertise of Ken Wilson to the urban division, we now cover all the bases. And they've promised to explain to me what a 'Quiet Storm' is." (3/17p)
