Maroon 5 announced for Wango Tango

WANGO TANGO GETS MAROONED: Ryan Seacrest has announced Maroon 5 as the first of several artists in KIIS-FM's 2014 Wango Tango lineup to be revealed this week. Seacrest unveiled the band's name in a solemn ceremony at 7am this morning in the suitably august environs of the StubHub Center in Carson, CA. The full list of performers will be rolled out by Friday, at which time ticket info and other salient details will be made public. Wango Tango, which goes down on 5/10, is of course KIIS-FM's annual Pop fest, now celebrating its 16th anniversary; it's also the name of a Ted Nugent song that includes the lyric "it's a crazed gyration of the rock generation/It's my motivation to avoid the nauseation [sic], frustration/When I need some lubrication, baby." Whom will Seacrest announce tomorrow? We're thinking probably not Nugent, who appears to be hunting the President with a crossbow. (3/24a)
