Frankie Knuckles obit

FRANKIE KNUCKLES, often referred to as "The Godfather of House Music," died in Chicago yesterday (3/31); he was 59. The official cause of death is still unknown, although there are suggestions of fatal complications with diabetes. Born in N.Y., Francis Nicholls moved to Chicago in the '70s, where he began spinning at famed house spot The Warehouse. He was responsible for multiple remixes, including "Ain't Nobody" by Chaka Khan and "Blind" by Hercules & Love Affair, won the Grammy for Remixer of the Year in '97 and was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame in 2005.
