Rock Hall tonight

TERRITORIAL PISSINGS: Tonight’s the night for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2014 induction ceremony, taking place for the first time at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. This year’s batch arrives with some extra hot sauce because it includes Nirvana and KISS as well as Cat Stevens, Hall & Oates, Linda Ronstadt, Peter Gabriel and The E Street Band. Rumors swirl around both of the big draws. In the case of KISS, will various present and former band members be able to put aside their differences long enough to perform and say nice things about each other—and is it appropriate to wear KISS makeup while they’re attempting to do so? As for Nirvana, the drama has to do with who will take Kurt’s place for the performance, with Michael Stipe (who’s scheduled to induct the band), original member Chad Channing, and Joan Jett among the possibilities, The Jett speculation arose when Dave Grohl posted an Instagram photo to the Foo Fighters' account that Krist Novoselic’s bass, Pat Smear’s Strat, Grohl’s kit and Jett’s Melody Maker, according to Stereogum. So there are plenty of intriguing plotlines. But don’t waste your time trying to find and record the Rock Hall telecast tonight. HBO won’t air it until 5/31 on HBO. (4/10a)
