PROMOTION? NO “PROBLEM”: As Monte Lipman blabbed in the latest issue of HITS, a six-month follow-up on the Top Five labels of 2013, Republic’s Wendy Goldstein has been upped to EVP/Head of Urban A&R. During her three years as SVP, Goldstein signed Sage the Gemini, Adrian Marcel, and producer DJ Mustard via a venture with Roc Nation, while handling A&R duties for Enrique Iglesias, Mika, Colbie Caillat and breakout star Ariana Grande. In this morning’s announcement, Monte, Avery and Rob Stevenson say nice things about Wendy, and she says nice things about them. F’rinstance: “They encourage everyone around them to thrive. We all share the same mindset. We have a common goal to finish number one. It’s one of the best environments I’ve worked in. We all love music, and we want to build a legacy for the Republic brand.” (6/19a)
