DOWNLOAD THIS: This week it was turnover Monday, as the U.S. release of Ed Sheeran’s presumptive chart-topper was moved up a day to coincide with the rest of the world, and everybody else followed suit. As soon as Sheeran’s x became available, the pre-orders kicked in and the brace of album cuts that had peppered the upper reaches of the singles chart was absorbed into the x tally; suffice it to say that Sheeran is extremely hot at the moment. Sam Smith could also use a heat check, as In the Lonely Hour shows stickiness entering its second week amid the typical assortment of debuts, most of which will be short-term occupants of the leaderboard, while his featured vocal on Disclosure’s 2013 single “Latch” joins “Stay With Me” in the singles Top 10. Also joining the usual suspects are new entries from Maroon 5 and Calvin Harris, which we expect to stick around throughout the summer, along with Magic!’s balmy chart-topper. (6/24a)
