Nashville/Miranda tease

CAN WE GET A YEE-HAW? In the latest issue of HITS, the print magazine, out today, we take a look at the new world of Nashville. With country exploding commercially and diversifying creatively, we chewed the fat with some key label execs, artists—like our cover gal and interview subject, Miranda Lambert—publishers, managers, media execs and other players, and learned a lot about the state of play around Music Row. Cowboy hats vs. ball caps? Bro vs. prog? Merle or Metallica? Honky-tonk or hip-hop? There may be divisions, but there’s one thing Nashvillians can agree on: They all wish we’d stay considerably west of the Mississippi. (7/2a)
