Bleachers Public Access

NO, THANK YOU: RCA's Bleachers choose an unconventional method for promoting the release of new album Strange Desire—the band's Jack Antonoff assembled the above "telethon," generically titled Thank You Very Much, intercut music segments with semi-desperate fundraising and bemused guest spots by friends like George Wendt and Alia Shawkat, and got it on public-access TV channels around the country. Viewers tuning in likely had no idea what they were looking it, which is pretty delightful. Back in May, Antonoff ran a Craigslist ad teasing the album. (7/17a)
