WHAT GIVES? School Boy/Interscope has the soundtrack to the Weinstein Company film The Giver, based on Lois Lowry’s 1994 young adult novel, which has sold 10m+ copies worldwide. The Giver: Music Collection, streeting (as we used to say) on 8/5, features the brand new OneRepublic song “Ordinary Human,” written specifically for the film. According to Ryan Tedder, the book is a favorite of the band members. “It’s a huge honor to contribute our music to a movie that’s not only an amazing story, but also has a cast of actors that we admire so much, like Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep,” he says. "We hope our fans are just as excited about it as we are.” The album also contains tracks from Jake Bugg, Rixton, Aloe Blacc, Tori Kelly and Capital Cities, among others. (7/22a)
