HE'D LIKE TO BUY A VOWEL (UPDATE): As we hinted on Friday (see below), Vince Szydlowski has been tapped as SVP, Label Sales at Capitol Music Group, overseeing CMG's National Sales staff, Capitol EVP Greg Thompson has announced. A seven-year veteran of UMGD, where he served as VP of National Sales, Szydlowski "brings a wealth of music and sales experience" to the Tower, according to Thompson. For his part, Szydlowski thanked CMG chief Steve Barnett, Thompson, Michelle Jubelirer and team for the opportunity and hailed "the tremendous progress they've made in such a relatively short time." He plans to hold a day-long, company-wide seminar on the spelling of his name.
