ACTION JACKSON: Sony’s Legacy Recordings/Commercial Music Group has awarded John Jackson with his SVP A&R stripes. He’ll continue to run the A&R and content development groups at Legacy while also heading a newly formed video A&R team. "John loves music, cares equally about our artists and the consumer experience, sees the big picture and brings passion and energy to every project,” Legacy prexy Adam Block enthused while announcing the promotion, adding that he’s “both a leader and a team player.” Jackson started at Legacy in 1998, a year after graduating from Indiana University with the world's first Bachelor of Arts degree in rock and roll history. John's favorite movie is School of Rock, and his favorite Christmas present is a box set. (9/18a)
