Steve, Ethiopia and Clarence

HOW SWEET IT IS: At the Heroes and Legends Awards gala in Hollywood, Motown chief and UMPG exec Ethiopia Habetemariam poses with legendary producer/publisher/label head Clarence Avant and Capitol Music Group chairman Steve Barnett. Habtemariam received the HAL Triumph Award and tributes from Avant and Motown Founder Berry Gordy, who declared the iconic label "in great hands." Performers at the event included Mary Wilson, Dennis Edwards, Brenda Holloway and new Motown artist Kevin Ross; also honored were New Edition, the Mary Jane Girls, Ryan Press and Eddie Floyd. Shortly after this photo was snapped, Barnett outlined his theory that Motown hits "You've Really Got a Hold on Me"," "I'll Be There" and "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" are actually about his marketshare.
