top 10 tracks

TOP 10 TRACKS: The numbers may be down overall—only the top six sellers are in six digits—but on the plus side there’s been a wholesale freshening up of the leaderboard, with five new entries. Of these, the latest instant-grat peel-off from Jason Aldean’s just-released Old Boots, New Dirt (Broken Bow) will likely have the shortest stay in the Top 10, while Maroon 5’s “Animals” (+121%) appears to have legs (four of them?) now that it’s all over televised football games and being used on a Kia commercial. One Direction’s debuting “Steal My Girl” cruised all the way to #3 and finished less than 3k behind Big Machine’s Taylor Swift, whole Arista Nashville’s Carrie Underwood will test her crossover appeal in the coming weeks following a reasonably strong bow. The fifth new entry is from WB’s Jason Derulo, no stranger to these parts.

1. Meghan Trainor, “All About That Bass” – 202k
2. Taylor Swift, “Shake It Off” – 189k
3. One Direction, “Steal My Girl” – 186k
4. Carrie Underwood, “Something in the Water” – 125k
5. Maroon 5’s “Animals” – 115k
6. Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj, “Bang Bang” – 106k
7. Iggy Azalea f/Rita Ora, “Black Widow” – 89k
8. Tove Lo, “Habits (Stay High)” – 88k
9. Jason Aldean, “Just Getting’ Started” – 86k
10. Jason Derulo, “Trumpets” – 78k

The biggest mover below the Top 10 is “Jealous” from Island’s Nick Jonas, which went #36-17, seeling 64k, a 101% week-over-week increase. Meanwhile, Republic Nashville’s Florida Georgia Line played the instant-grat card with “Bumpin’ the Night” from next Tuesday’s album release and wound up at #14, moving 71k digi-units. (10/9a)
