Top 10 tracks

TOP 10 TRACKS: Big Machine’s Taylor Swift leapfrogged Epic’s Meghan Trainor to regain the top perch, but both records were down, and for the first time since the two smashes began dominating the chart several weeks back no track topped 200k. Continuing the downward trend, Interscope’s Maroon 5 climbed two slots to #3 despite essentially flat week-over-week sales and was the only other track to hit six digits. Island’s Tove Lo went #8-4 behind a 12% uptick, falling just short of 100k, while labelmate Nick Jonas broke into the Top 10 with a zesty +17%. The lone debut on the big board is Florida Georgia Line’s latest hyphenated instant-grat offering ahead of Tuesday’s release on Republic Nashville, so its stay will be short. WB’s Jason Derulo was the only other Top 10 track in positive territory with a modest 3% gain. And Def Jam’s Jeremih made the big board after two weeks at #11. It's also worth noting that the Republic family of labels locked up half the Top 10, continuing a recent pattern.

1. Taylor Swift, “Shake It Off” – 171k
2. Meghan Trainor, “All About That Bass” – 169k
3. Maroon 5, “Animals” – 114k
4. Tove Lo, “Habits (Stay High)” – 99k
5. Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj, “Bang Bang” – 194k
6. Jason Derulo, “Trumpets” – 80k
7. Florida Georgia Line, “Sippin’ on Fire” – 79k
8. Iggy Azalea f/Rita Ora, “Black Widow” – 77k
9. Nick Jonas, “Jealous” – 75k
10. Jeremih f/YG, “Don’t Tel ’Em” – 74k

Looks like Capitol’s Sam Smith has another winner in “I’m Not the Only One,” the week’s biggest gainer with +131% as it went #48-13 on 58k units. Interestingly, “Stay With Me” picked up an Indian summery 8% in its 29th week. Both tracks no doubt benefited from the CBS Sunday Morning segment, in which Sam came off as disarmingly modest and genuine. His Today perf yesterday should keep the latest tailwind blowing.
