YOK Artist of the Year

WHY I OUGHTA: VH1 and Spotify will jointly anoint the You Oughta Know Artist of the Year at the second annual VH1 You Oughta Know Live in Concert, to be broadcast live from NYC's Hammerstein Ballroom on 11/13 at 9pm EST. The winner will be selected from the 2014 YOK class via fans' Spotify plays and Twitter mentions; among the contestants are A Great Big World, Aloe Blacc, American Authors, Bleachers, CHVRCHES, Echosmith, KONGOS, Mary Lambert, Tove Lo, Vance Joy and Sam Smith. The day of the show, the top 3 artists will be announced via VH1 socials and this site; fans will decide the champion by voting and using the hashtag #ArtistNameYOK. NYC fans will find tickets here. The broadcast, hosted by Nicole Richie, is exec-produced by Michael Dempsey for Dempsey Productions and Lee Rolontz and Sandy Alouete for VH1 and produced by Lara Fried by VH1. (10/21p)
