Three Newcomers, Re-Entry Feel the Buzz
A red-hot country band, a female-led rock group and a pop singer-songwriter with a groundbreaking, award-winning interactive video top the list of newcomers to this week’s Vibe-Raters round-up of the new and upcoming.

Topping the list is Republic Nashville’s ACM New Artist of the Year The Band Perry, whose self-titled debut has already marked them as a band to watch. The group, composed of Kimberly Perry and her two brothers Reid and Neil, is currently scoring with two singles, “If I Die Young” and “You Lie,” from their self-titled debut. “You Lie,” currently Top 10 at Country, is now crossing to Top 40 and Hot Adult. “If I Die” is now over 2 million in track sales. Tour dates with Tim McGraw start later this week, with a Today Show appearance slated for Wednesday night (4/28). For more info, go here.

Hollywood Records’ Vermont-based Grace Potter & the Nocturnals are climbing the Hot Adult charts with the Top 25 “Paris (Ooh La La),” a song they first performed on VH1’s Divas show from their self-titled third album which peaked at #5 on iTunes and #2 on the iTunes Rock Albums chart. There’s a full-length concert airing on PBS’ Live from the Artist’s Den all this week as the band prepares to its headlining Bonnaroo Buzz Tour starting next month. For a complete entry, click here.

S-Curve singer-songwriter Andy Grammer has graduated from busking on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica onto the Top 15 at Hot Adult with “Keep Your Head Up,” the interactive clip named Most Innovative Video by MTV’s online O Awards this week and added to VH1. The video is now up to 5 million views online. Grammer has a four-song EP out with his full-length debut slated for June 14. For more, go here.

Finally Mercury/IDJ’s promising Utah newcomers Neon Trees follow up the successful “Animal” by re-entering the Vibe-Rater rundown with new track, “Your Surrender” from their debut Habit. The band is about to go out on their first headlining tour after major adds on the new single from WKRL, WFNX, KZZU, WCDA, CKEY, KLJT and more. The group’s currently opening for My Chemical Romance, with radio and festival shows upcoming. See the complete entry here.
